Ekwe Music App

Thrilled to share Ekwe™, which is a unique app for music making I've been developing that brings a new level of ease and accessibility to digital music creation. Ekwe’s intuitive compositional canvas enables creators of all ages to explore a rich library of 150 authentic musical instruments sampled from around the world as well as contemporary electronic instruments and loops to create, collaborate, edit and share their compositions. Unlike other platforms, Ekwe encourages users to create their own music from the start, rather than just following pre-set patterns or instructions.

It is all about access, First, we have eliminated the steep learning curve required by most digital audio workstations (DAWs). Creators no longer need to think like recording engineers or need prior musical training to realize the music of their imagination. Second, Ekwe breaks down economic, geographic, and cultural barriers to music making by organizing our core music library by global region and instrument family, as opposed to genre. Creators of all ages can now explore and create with instruments from around the world, instruments they may never knew existed but have heard many times in popular music. Today’s musical landscape is a global one and Ekwe recognizes and honors this. From hobbyist to professionals,
Ekwe is the most inspiring, intuitive, and accessible way of experiencing, learning, creating, teaching, playing, and sharing music.

Ekwe’s
core music library was created by 60 master musicians recording in three primary locations, Germany, New York, and Las Vegas, and includes a wide range of instruments from ancient to contemporary. The bespoke audio engine invented for Ekwe allows for easy connected MIDI editing as well as touchscreen interaction, making Ekwe both a compositional tool and a playable instrument.
